Graduate Collection Final Collection

— GRADUATE COLLECTION PROJECT
The Tattered Lolita

My Inspirations came from workwear from the Edwardian period. Particually Mary Pickford styling who was considered the ‘godmother’ of Lolita styling. Mary Pickford although an adult, would often have to play children roles in films such as ‘Poor Little Rich Girl’, ‘Pollyanna’ & ‘Rebecca of Sunny Brook Farm’

I looked into the Children labourers of that time and using the most traditional fabric for workwear, Denim. I exaggerate the volumes and distressed the look of a ‘Tattered Lolita’ She had feminine details combined with workwear aesthetics.

My final collection project was a complete denim collection, which also had scanned denim prints.
